.
I would like
to extend my congratulations to FARA
on its second anniversary.
.
It
is suprising to remember that FARA
is such a young organization, as it seems
to
have achieved so much.
On
a visit to Thailand last year (1998) I was lucky enough to witness just
how far
FARA
has come and how successful it has been in promoting the message
of fire safety to children. It was also heartening to see how much
support the association has gained at all levels of society from parents
and volunteers, to politicians.
.
Thailand
has had several fatal fire disasters in recent years, but it is far too
easy for those who have never experienced such an event to Think
*it
could not happen to me*
.
But
it can happen to you.
.
And
devastating fires are even more tragic when they have been caused by carelesness,
or if they could have been prevented. Being aware of fire safety in everything
you do and everywhere you go will help you live in a safer environment.
Knowing how to act on discovering or being caught in a fire will could
help keep you alive.
.
That
is why FARA's training camps and activities are so important.
.
And
the most important
message must be * whatever you learn about fire safety and fire prevention
*
SHARE IT *.
Share
it with your friends, share it with your brothers and sisters,
share
it with your parents, share it with everyone you know.
.
One
day this information might save their lives.
