Evaluation procedures and standards for "FARA-FS Certified" certification Update: October 2005 |
|
Introduction
The FARA FS (Fire Safety) standard is a project of the Fire and Rescue Association introduced in 2000 with the aim of giving various organizations that are looking to improve their efficiency the opportunity to enhance their operational processes to international standards in the following safety-related fields.
To comply with "FARA-FS Certified" certification, an organization must undergo training in at least the following four modules.
Module 1 : Fire Basic Course (FBC), taking one day (six hours) with up to 60 persons undergoing training.
Module 2 : Emergency Response Team (ERT) A four day, 24 hour course with those participating having passed Module 1 (FBC), and not exceeding 45 persons to become FARA-FS team leaders.
Module 3 : To create a "Safety Constitution" HB (Handbook) that serves as a guide to fire-fighting and in combating other disasters. This module lasts 18 hours (three days) and those participating must have passed the ERT training (Module 2).
Module 4 : Evacuation Drill (ED), four days or 24 hours in duration, and those participating must have passed the HB training (Module 3), and take part in 10 evacuation drills.
After completing these four modules and completing the handbook, FARA invite the organizations executives and ERT team members to receive a plaque and certificate that will be valid for three years.
After this three-year period, FARA will evaluate the standard again in accordance with the E01 documentation in your hands so that your organization may have the opportunity to participate in continuous quality improvement for the benefit and safety of your staff and customers.
